Level I Program

Admission to Level I

The Level I entry pathway for the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) Program is for students coming direct from secondary school. Enrolment in the program is limited and highly competitive, with over 7,000 applicants annually for only 240 spots. Applications to BHSc for both domestic and international applicants are completed through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre. All applicants will be required to complete a Supplementary Application, which will be assessed in concert with your grade point average.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) Program. A combination of final/interim Grade 12 marks will be assessed in concert with an applicant’s Supplementary Application score. Simply meeting the academic requirements does not ensure admission to the program

  • A minimum secondary school grade point average of 90%
  • Completion of the following Grade 12 U/M courses (Ontario)
    • English
    • Biology
    • Chemistry
    • One of Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, or Data Management
    • One non-math/non-science/non-technology 4U or 4M credit
    • One additional Grade 12 U/M course
  • Completion of the Supplementary Application will be reviewed for those applicants who satisfy the grade and course requirements
  • No additional documentation (i.e., CV/resume) is required or accepted as part of your application

Indigenous applicants who wish to be considered under the Facilitated Indigenous Admissions Program (FIAP) should apply for the BHSc (Honours) Program as per the usual procedure, as well as complete a FIAP application.   

Application Requirements under the FIAP:

  • Applicants must meet the same course requirements and minimum GPA for Level I applicants
  • Complete the BHSc (Honours) Program Supplementary Application
  • Complete the Facilitated Indigenous Admissions Program (FIAP): Self-Identification Application by the OUAC deadline date.

If you are a Black applicant and wish to be considered under the Equitable Admissions for Black Applicants (EABA) process, you should apply for the BHSc (Honours) Program as per the usual procedure. You will be invited to self-identify for the EABA when information regarding the supplementary application is issued in late January/early February.

Supplementary Application Supplementary Application Questions

The Supplementary Application is a required component when applying to the program and will be considered in consort with your grade point average. The Supplementary Application questions will be posted in September

Applicants will receive an email in January with detailed instructions for submitting their Supplementary Application. Access to the Supplementary Application portal is time limited, no extensions to accessing the portal are offered.
